Addison Construction Supply delivered a comprehensive reinforcing steel package for the replacement of Artondale Elementary School, supporting a modern, two-story educational facility designed for long-term performance in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Foundations – footings, grade beams, and retaining elements
Slab on grade – providing structural integrity and crack control across the expansive footprint
Slab on metal deck – upper-level reinforcement supporting the two-story design
CMU walls and cores – vertical reinforcing to meet seismic and lateral loadrequirements
Addison Construction Supply furnished approximately 120 tons of fabricated reinforcing steel for the new 77,175-square-foot, two-story school building and the 3,822-square-foot covered play structure, along with extensive site improvements including new playfields, parking, and dedicated bus and parent drop-off areas. The rebar scope covered foundations, slab on grade, slab on metal deck, and CMU walls and cores, providing structural integrity, crack control, and vertical reinforcement to meet stringent seismic and lateral load requirements across the campus.
Executing this work required close coordination with the general contractor and on-site crews to align fabrication, delivery, and installation sequencing with multiple structural systems and an active school replacement schedule. Addison Construction Supply’s accurate detailing and just-in-time deliveries helped ensure the new Artondale Elementary achieved the required strength, durability, and constructability while keeping the project on schedule and in compliance with the design intent.
